Embanked enclosure

Fairy fort / ringfort

What is recorded here

Marked as a triangular embanked enclosure (ext. dims. c. 60m NE-SW; c. 50m NW-SE) backing onto a lane at SE on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated in pasture on a gentle S-facing slope, it is not visible at ground level. It is visible as a cropmark (ext. diam. c. 40m) on an OSI series of vertical photographs (2005). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
