What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Lissaphuca (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a slight south-facing slope on a broad plateau and presents a subcircular, domed, grass-covered platform measuring 22.5 metres north-northeast to south-southwest and 20 metres west-northwest to east-southeast. A scarp 4.75 to 7.8 metres wide and 1.45 to 1.7 metres high defines the platform, with a berm towards its base probably caused by poaching. No visible fosse or identifiable original entrance remains, but some boulders at the north-eastern edge of the scarp may be the remains of a wall.
