Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Gortnacrannagh, County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass and reed-covered area sits on a slight ridge and measures roughly 27 metres across. An overgrown earthen bank surrounds the interior, though the bank drops to a lower scarp on the southwest side. A shallow ditch runs along the east and west edges, while a two-metre-wide entrance opens toward the southeast.
On a slight NW-SE ridge. Circular grass and reed-covered area (diam. 26.8m NNW-SSE; 26.4m ENE-WSW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.8m; int. H 0.1-0.2m; ext. H 0.5-0.8m), which is reduced to a scarp (H 0.7m) S-W, and a fosse (Wth of top 4.7m; Wth of base 2.4m; max. D 0.4m) ESE-WSW. There is an entrance (Wth 2m) at ESE. A flat-topped grass-covered mound (diam. of base 6m; H 0.4m) against the inside of the perimeter at NW may be spoil from shallow quarries in the E of the interior. Rath (RO022-032----) is c. 150m to the SW.
