Embanked enclosure

Situated towards the top of a N and NE-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 30m NW-SE) covered in dense scrub and defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.8-1m; ext. H 0.8-1.3m) with internal stone-facing. An outer fosse (Wth of top 5.7m; Wth of base 2.2m; D 0.5m) survives NW-N only. The bank is curtailed by a NW-SE road wall at NE, and it is separated by field bank SE-NW from the field to the W. There is no visible entrance. Rath (WA023-024----) is at the top of the hill c. 290m to the SW and earthwork site (WA023-023----) is c. 170m to the NNW.
