What is recorded here

Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1840 (ext. diam. c. 35m) and 1926 (ext. diam. c. 40m) eds of the OS 6-inch maps and situated on a gentle S-facing slope at the foothills of Croughaun Hill. It is described locally as a circular 'lios' which was removed c. 1970. Slight traces of a vegetation change defining a subcircular grass-covered area (dims. c. 40m E-W; c. 35m N-S) survive. Enclosure (WA015-007----) is c. 30m to the W. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
