What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Corroy (athlone North By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. The 1837 edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map marked the oval embanked enclosure, measuring about forty metres north-south and thirty metres east-west, on a slight east-facing slope. The site is no longer visible at ground level because reclaimed pasture covers the earthworks. Another rath sits about one hundred and eighty metres to the southeast.
Marked as an oval embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 40m N-S; c. 30m E-W) only on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a slight E-facing slope. It is not visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture. Rath (RO042-033----) is c. 180m to the SE.
