What is recorded here
Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Clooncullaan (roscommon By., Cregga Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It appears as a circular embanked enclosure on the 1837 and 1914 Ordnance Survey maps and sits on a gentle south-facing slope. Gannon measured the circular area at about twenty-six metres across in 1972, but the earthwork is no longer visible at ground level in the pasture.
Marked as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a gentle S-facing slope. Described as a circular area (diam. c. 26m) defined by an earthen bank (Gannon 1972), it is not now visible at ground level in pasture.
