Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowkeel (athlone North By., Lackan Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. The circular grass-covered area measures 35.4m east-west and 33.2m north-south, bounded by an overgrown earthen bank 3.9 to 4m wide and an outer fosse reaching 5.1m across its southern top. A blocked southeast entrance still shows a 2.2m-wide causeway, while another rath lies 200m to the north.
On a level area in an undulating landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 35.4m E-W; 33.2m N-S) defined by an overgrown but poached earthen bank (Wth 3.9-4m; int. H 0.5-0.7m; ext. H 1.1m) with some external facing-stones, and an outer fosse (at S: Wth of top 5.1m; Wth of base 2m; D 0.3m) ENE-S-NNW. The entrance at SE is now blocked, but the causeway (Wth 2.2m) is visible. Rath (RO045-073----) is c. 200m to the N.
