Castle (Site of) Rahara is a low grass-covered mound inside an old rath in County Roscommon, marked as a castle only on the 1915 OS map. The wider basin may have held a hall, courtyard or keeping place now lost beneath turf and time. Nearby, a standing stone still rises just south of the mound, while the older Strafford map records only a cross-marked church at Raharrowbeg.

A structure with a cross indicating a church is the only feature marked at Raharrowbeg on the Strafford map of c. 1636, but William McHugh Kelly owned over 600 acres at Ballagh and Raharrowbeg in 1641 (Simington 1949, 115, Athlone (215)). The castle is marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated in a broad basin. This is a subrectangular grass-covered mound (dims of top 10.2m E-W; 3.4m N-S; dims of base 17m E-W; 8.4m N-S; H 0.65-1.25m) within rath (RO045-130001-).
