Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Embanked enclosure is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballysundrivan, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the eastern edge of a north-south spur and contains a circular area thirty-five point five metres across. Two earthen banks and a fosse once surrounded the space, but pasture now hides the remains from ground-level view.
At the E edge of a N-S spur. Described as a circular area (diam. 35.5m) surrounded by the remnants of two earthen banks and a fosse (Gannon 1972). It is not visible today at ground level in pasture. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
