Embanked enclosure

Located on a broad N-S ridge. Depicted on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a multivallate enclosure (max. ext. diam. c. 60m) incorporating a road bank in the perimeter NE-SE. It is marked as a D-shaped enclosure (dims. c. 55m E-W; c. 50m N-S) with straight field banks at N and E and a curved hachured bank (C c. 55m) S-NW on the 1925 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Remnants of the outermost bank survive (L 20m; Wth 2.7m; H 0.8-1.2m) S-NW.
