Barrymore, County Cork: shadow arc north of Desert graveyard marks a levelled ecclesiastical enclosure, while Power recorded a lost causeway called Cliadh Buidhe east into what is now forest. The church and its boundary may have stood where the land still dips and holds water. Any person who walked that yellow path did so beside bog, rain and dead ancestors, not on a clean road.

Aerial photograph (CASAP, 1986) shows curving arc (shadow mark) in field to N of Desert graveyard (CO054-031002-) of what appears to be large levelled enclosure around the graveyard. Power (1923, 172) noted 'remains of an ancient causeway, the Cliadh Buidhe, leading to church, in bog to E of graveyard'; this area now forrested.
