According to Power (1907, 291) within the small townland of Decoy 'there is a cill, or early church site [TS076-060002-] …The circular embankment which protected the church is now barely traceable, it enclosed a space of about an acre, most of which has been used as a gravel pit. Here were found three gold pins, which were sold to a Clonmel silversmith for 4/6, also a "stone chalice" and a cross inscribed plummet or bell-tongue of stone'.
