What is recorded here

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). c. 70m N-S x 50m E-W). Possible plantation. No visible surface trace. Aerial photograph (GB95.FV.31) shows cropmark of a D-shaped enclosure defined by a fosse and with an entrance facing eastwards into a curvilinear annexe defined by a narrower fosse. A narrow curved fosse is located within the interior of the main enclosure. A cropmark of a crescentic feature is located immediately outside the south-west corner of the main enclosure, function and context unknown.
