What is recorded here

In arable field, on a W-facing slope. No visible surface trace. Identified as upstanding earthworks on aerial photography (CUCAP 13 July 1966, AOZ 87) which had been reduced to cropmarks by 1970 as shown on aerial photograph (CUCAP July 1970 BDR 94). Linear feature (L c. 125m; Wth c. ) aligned (long axis c. E-W) forms S-side and curvilinear feature of similar width extends from W end of S-side and curving inwards to NE. Square feature (dims. c. 20m N-S; c. 20m E-W) near centre to extreme E-side is a wet area - probably natural. Second wet area to S. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
