Earthwork in Corbally (bunratty Upper By.)

Corbally Castle has surrendered its stones to grass and scrub, leaving only a broad sub-circular platform at the east end of a low hill in County Clare. A north-south road now bisects the remains, cutting through what may have been a hall, a courtyard or a crowded life long forgotten. The earth rises slightly toward the northeast, perhaps marking the highest room or the place where people last looked outward.
