Drumbaun Fort is a ringfort, a type of early-medieval agricultural and defensive settlement, typically dating between the 5th and 10th centuries AD. Local folklore often associates such forts with the "good people" or fairies, and they were traditionally avoided for digging or building due to beliefs in supernatural inhabitation.
