In pasture, 70m N of townland boundary with Ardpatrick. Ardpatrick monastery (LI056-002001/009-) lie 175m to the S. Not marked on 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Depicted on the Cassini ed. OSi 6-inch map as a raised oval-shaped mound defined by a scarp. Earthwork described in 1974 as a ‘roughly oblong grassy mound about 25 paces E-W by 10 paces N-S. The long sides are marked by grass banks 4’-6’ [1.2m – 1.8m] high. A trench 4’ x 2’ [1.2m-0.6m] runs parallel to the N bank (inside it); apart from the trench the space between the 2 banks is a raised grassy platform 4’-5’ [1.2m-1.5m] above the outside ground level, it does not suggest any type of ancient structure known to me and indeed it may be something that was intended to be spread over the land, but was then abandoned’ (SMR Field Report). Monument visible as a roughly oval shaped earthwork on Digital Globe orthoimage taken between 2011-2013 and on Google Earth orthoimages.
