What is recorded here

Thirty metres across in County Carlow, the earthwork may have been a ringfort before fields erased it. A field boundary at the southwest still holds a fragment of that older shape. The rest has become soil, memory and speculation.

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Shown on 1839 'OS 6-inch' map as circular area enclosed by bank (diam. c. 30m). No definite surface traces. Field boundary at SW may incorporate portion of former monument. Possibly a ringfort.
