Dowdstown Ho. stood in County Louth as a castle built around 1570 by Lawrence Clinton, surviving until demolition in the early twentieth century. A substantial roofed tower marked the estate on the 1656-8 Down Survey, yet the exact location has been lost. The present house dates from around 1820, occupying land where the older fortress once commanded attention.

Lawrence Clinton built Dowdstown Castle around 1570; it was later demolished in the early twentieth century. The castle is remembered for its substantial roofed tower, which appeared on historical maps of Mapperstowne parish.
