Dolforwyn Castle

Dolforwyn Castle was built by Llywelyn the Great, ruler of Gwynedd, in the early 13th century, around 1220–1230, as part of his efforts to consolidate power in central Wales. It is remembered as a key defensive and administrative stronghold in the Welsh Marches and is associated with the later siege of 1245 during the conflict between Llywelyn's grandson, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, and the English.
