Built by Llywelyn the Great in the early 13th century, Dolforwyn Castle was a key defensive stronghold in the Welsh Marches. It is remembered for its strategic role in the conflict between the Welsh princes and the English Crown, and for the famous siege of 1245 led by Dafydd ap Gruffydd.
