Maumnahaltora holds a 1.6m prostrate stone south of the west end of its wedge tomb, marked with several cups. The wedge tomb stands beside it, but the separate stone still catches the eye because its small hollows break the plain surface. People may have set drinks, fat or fire in those hollows, or simply cut them to mark the place. Either way, the stone remained large enough to see and close enough to touch.

A prostrate stone, 1.6m in maximum dimension, lying to the south of the west end of the wedge tomb (KE045-013003-) is recorded as bearing a number of cup marks (County Kerry Field Club 1939, 53; Sheehy 1982, 32; Cuppage 1986, 34). Compiled by: Paul Walsh Date of upload: 3 October 2016

Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, the cupmarked stone is associated with the nearby wedge tomb and may have had ritual or ceremonial significance. Cup marks are often interpreted as symbolic or ritual features, possibly linked to water, fertility, or astronomical observations.
