In Templemore graveyard (SL034-048002-). One of sixslabs (see also SL034-048006-; SL034-048007-; SL034-048008-; SL034-048009-; SL034-048011-) carved with crosses with expanded terminals were identified in 1994 used as grave-markers, within the graveyard but all are now obscured by overgrowth (pers. comm. M. B. Timoney). These slabs have been identified as being Early Christian in date (pers. comm. C. Manning). Cross-slab in Ardagh is likely of early medieval Christian origin, dating to between the 8th and 11th centuries. It may have served as a grave marker or commemorative monument, reflecting the spread of Christianity in the region.
