What is recorded here

This cross-inscribed stone was found during repairs to the parapet of a bridge (National Grid ref: 41958, 102727) in Kilfountain townland, Co Kerry (OS 6-inch map 43). It is now in the Kerry County Museum, Tralee (object number KCM 2000:2). See original location KE043-262----
This cross-inscribed stone likely dates to the early Christian period (5th–10th century AD) and may have served a religious or commemorative function. The presence of a cross suggests Christian symbolism, possibly associated with a local monastic site or early Christian settlement in the Tralee area.
