Coothall Bridge

Weld (1832, 254) says that Coote Hall is overlooking a 'an old straight bridge of seven or eight small arches, which though passable, has a rather ruined look.' It is not mentioned in earlier documents but might date from the 17th or 18th century. The present bridge is a mid-19th-century road bridge across the Boyle River, probably built for the Boyle canal.
