Concentric enclosure in Creeve (roscommon By., Rossmore Ed) is a concentric enclosure in Creeve (roscommon By., Rossmore Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies the crest of a south-facing slope on a broad hill, containing a small central hut-site within a larger subrectangular boundary. Earthen banks and scarps mark parts of both perimeters, although the eastern edge of the inner area no longer traces clearly. A separate rath lies roughly one hundred and seventy metres north-northwest, linking the site to a wider pattern of ancient earthworks across the landscape.
Visible on aerial photograph (OS: 4/2058), and situated at the crest of the S-facing slope of a broad hill. Subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 30m N-S; 9m E-W at N to 24m E-W at S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) at N, a scarp down to the interior (H 0.5m) at W, and an external scarp (H 0.5m) at S, but the perimeter at E cannot be traced. There is a hut-site (RO022-030002-) (int. diam. 3.7m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 1.2-1.6m; max. H 0.3m) at the centre.
The enclosure is towards the E edge of a subrecatangular enclosure (dims c. 70m E-W; c. 70m N-S) defined by an earthen bank at N (Wth 4m; int. H 0.2m; ext. H 0.5m) and SW-W, and elsewhere by low scarps which are intermittently visible. Rath (RO016-121----) is c. 170m to the NNW.
