Semi-detached three-bay single-storey vernacular house, built c.1860, having recent single-storey extension to rear (northeast). Pitched straw-thatched roof with mesh over, having painted metal rod to eaves at front elevation, stone pegs to rear and part of front and iron pegs to gable, and with smooth-rendered chimneystacks to end walls; flat felt roof to extension. Smooth-rendered walls. Square-headed openings with painted concrete sills and replacement windows and timber door. Single-storey outbuilding to rear with pitched corrugated-iron roof, rendered copings and rendered walls. House has low drystone field-stone boundary wall to front. Similar house attached to south.

This house is one half of an unusual semi-detached pair of vernacular houses. It retains its thatched roof and the stone and iron pegs that serve as a reminder of the roped thatch technique. Its roadside setting is attractive, with rock outcrop to the front and a second house and outbuilding adjacent.
