What is recorded here

Colmanstown Castle stood as a tower house in County Clare, Ireland, its stones built to command the surrounding land. Whether it guarded a family, a trade route, or a local dispute, the structure served a purpose strong enough to warrant stone rather than timber. Ruin has removed the chambers and doors, but the castle remains a marker of human ambition, still visible enough to imagine the lives that moved through it.

Built by the MacNamara dynasty in the 15th or 16th century, Colmanstown Castle is remembered as a historic example of a tower house in the region, reflecting the defensive and social structures of Gaelic Ireland during the late medieval period.
