What is recorded here

Colmán of Cloyne was a late-called monk and poet who founded the monastery at Cluain Uama in Munster, becoming one of Ireland’s earliest known vernacular writers. Tradition says Brendan of Clonfert finally persuaded the mature layman to leave behind his earlier life, turning a late decision into a permanent anchor for the region. Cloyne still stands as his shrine, preserving the shape of that transformation rather than inventing a glossy hero.
