What is recorded here

Cloghbrack is a squat irregular granite boulder on a Galway hillock, aligned east-west and flanked by a grass-covered pile of field-clearance stones. It stands in undulating grassland, small enough to walk past yet marked clearly enough to remember. The stone may have watched herds, bordered a field or simply survived the clearing of other rocks. In that possibility, it becomes a witness rather than a monument, preserving the shape of local life long after the hands that moved it have gone.
