What is recorded here

Render circular clock, made c. 1800, set into base of rendered rear wall of building and having render edging with central socket for clock hands. Hours marked by incised Roman numerals and minutes marked by painted numbers.
This clock is a very unusual and interesting feature in Fermoy. Located partly below street level, the clock clearly predates the levelling of Connolly Street. It may have been associated with the first barracks in the town, which are thought to have been built at this site.
