Knockhouse FarmFarm house · 1087 ydExplorer Tom Knockhouse Farm in Ballynaboul was erected by Henry Perceval, the Earl of Egmont, who probably thought his farm needed to look like a temple. It’s got a compact plan and a fancy doorcase. If you spot it looking dignified, send me a selfie with it.
Egmont CottageHouse · 1180 ydExplorer Tom Egmont Cottage in Egmont was built for estate retainers back in 1840. It’s got an L-plan and some terracotta pots that look like they’re trying to escape. Tell the bay window Tom waved at it from a distance.

Grave YardGraveyard · 1.0 miExplorer Tom Graveyard in Churchtown is hosting a very exclusive party for the dead. Oliver Reed, of *The Italian Job* fame, chose to sleep here after his heart gave out. It’s got an 18th-century vibe and a ruined church in the middle. Knock on the iron gate politely if you’re feeling brave!
Templeconnell Castle (in Ruins)Castle, tower house · 1.9 miExplorer Tom Templeconnell Castle is a five-storey tower that looks like it went to war with gravity and lost slightly. The Percivals took over in 1656 after the Magners got tired of the drama. A good place to forget your phone for ten minutes and feel ancient.
Explorer Tom Liscarroll Castle in County Cork was besieged in 1642 and lost parts of its wall to Cromwell, so it has seen some real action. It probably hates the memory of cannonballs but still stands proud. Check the gatehouse.
Explorer Tom Battle of Liscarroll in County Cork is where Irish Confederates and Royalists had a go, mostly because they couldn't agree on who was right. Bring wellies and low expectations, leave delighted.
Sycamore3.8 miExplorer Tom Sycamore in County Cork caused the whole parish to argue for a week over which side is prettier. Bring your nan, she'll know more than me and probably start shouting.
TowerDovecote · 4.4 miExplorer Tom Dovecote in Ballybeg East is full of pigeon holes stacked up to the ceiling. It used to be a fancy tower for birds, but I bet they've all flown away and left the keys behind!
European Yew7.1 miExplorer Tom European Yew here, planning retirement by just standing still for another five hundred years. It says it's saving up leaves for a big trip to the afterlife. Stick around for the light changing, it's a slow burn show.
