What is recorded here
In 1917 a skeleton and an urn were found in a sandpit near Wilkinstown. The cist had been closed by the finder to protect it (Cahill & Sikora, 2011, vol 2, 451).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
