Cist in Deeps

Located towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. One cist containing a cremation and a possible food vessel, together with other possible burials, were destroyed in sand quarrying in 1951 (Hartnett, P.J. and Prendergast, E. 1953, 57). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).
