Church

What is recorded here

No wall or roof remains above ground in Patrickswell graveyard, yet the absence itself is the shape of the place. A medieval church stood there before memory faded, and people may have knelt on that soil, watched storms pass over its timber, or buried the dead beside its foundation. The land keeps the church even when the eye cannot find it.
No surface remains visible of the medieval church site in Patrickswell graveyard (LI032-063002-) (O'Kelly 1944, 31). See attached ASI aerial photograph ASIAP - 304/31 date taken 13/09/2002. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 26 April 2019

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
