Monanimy Church stood in County Cork from at least 1291, losing its roof by 1615 and fading to foundation traces by 1932. The slight rise in the graveyard centre may still mark its site, preserving a place where worship continued through ruin rather than disappearing altogether.

Slight rise in centre of graveyard (14609) may mark site of parish church of Monanimy. In 1615 reported that nave 'in repair', chancel 'de-roofed' (Brady 1863, vol. 2, 356); described by Smith (1750, vol. 1, 347) as 'ruined...with a large chancel'; Power (1932, 110) noted only 'foundation traces'. A church here listed in Papal Taxation of 1291 (Brady ibid.). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
