What is recorded here
Church Island on Lough Gill is a small island where an early Christian community founded by St Lomán left behind a ruined church, a graveyard and a stone called Our Lady’s Bed. Pregnant women and anxious visitors have long touched or prayed at that bed, as if stone itself could ease fear or promise life. The water around it is quiet, but the history is not; it is a place where faith, birth and memory still move like breath under the surface.
Church Island is recorded as a islet in County Roscommon. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
