Smith (1750, vol. 1, 315) records 'the ruins of a chapel of ease, at Spitle-Bridge, one mile east of Buttevant'. Exact location not known. Possibly connected with hospital (14629) and burial ground (14167) c. 600m N of Spittle Bridge, now Buttevant Old Bridge.
