Church in Taghadoe was abandoned in 1861. If anybody said ‘we’ll leave it for now’, give them their due: that is championship-level leaving it for now.
Near the centre of a graveyard (KD010-014003-) which forms part of an early ecclesiastical site (KD010-014----). A ruined church which was built in 1821 and 'abandoned forty years later', according to Lennox-Barrow (1979 124-6). Geophysical survey (M. Byrne Unpublished MA thesis, NUI Maynooth, 2005) suggests the presence of burials within the church.
