Church in Kilknockane

In pasture, on low E-W ridge, on E side of driveway to house. According to Bowman (1934, 151), site of church and burial ground (14118) on hill called 'Ardnacille.' He noted (ibid.) that 'many grass covered mounds mark the site' and was informed by landowner that 'the church stones...were removed many years ago'. No visible surface trace of church; site known to present landowner as burial ground. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
