Church in Crossmahon

In field to E of Crossmahon House (CO083-020002-). Local tradition of church mentioned by O'Donoghue (1986, 261) as 'site of an old Norman Church called Kilshinshame - Cill Sin Sheamus (church of James the Elder)'. No visible surface trace. According to landowner, during removal of E boundary fence, possible foundations of church were uncovered. According to local tradition stones from church were used to build house, including two pointed window surrounds in E gable which are now plastered over.
