What is recorded here

Oratory: Located on the platform in NE of enclosure (KE106-007005-), this rectangular drystone-built structure is poorly preserved. It measures 2.25m N-S x 3.1m E-W internally. Its horizontally coursed wall, 1.1m wide, survives to an internal height of .45m; the outer face has collapsed. The .6m wide doorway is located at W, and a 1.25m long slab lying across it may be a displaced lintel. The above description is derived from O'Sullivan, A. and Sheehan, J. (compilers) 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University press. (1996), no. 963. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 13 June 2013
