Freestanding chimney, c.1930, on a square plan with rendered base having red brick fluted flue over with stringcourses and moulded concrete coping. Originally built as part of Cotton Mill complex. Now disused.

This chimney is a fine, imposing structure of red brick construction that is of historical and social interest, attesting to a former industrial presence in the locality – built as part of a Cotton Mill complex and originally used to generate process steam, the chimney is of technical interest. The chimney is now disused while the associated buildings have been renovated and/or remodelled to accommodate a light industrial use. The chimney, although set back from the line of the road, is an attractive and imposing landmark in the landscape and is one of only two industrial chimneys surviving in the town (the other being located at the former Gas Works (11814131/KD-19-14-131).
