Ballymaglancy Cave is a seven-hundred-metre limestone tunnel where lesser horseshoe bats still fly through darkness. The Clancy family gave the place its name, and Pollwalter marked the water that carved it. People may have walked these chambers before records existed, listening for bat wings instead of echoes. The cave keeps both human memory and animal life because neither belongs to display.

In the S sector of rath (GA106-087----). A square stone-filled hollow (N-S 1.2m; E-W 1.2m) may mark the site of this Man-made underground passage; otherwise no visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 4 January 2018
