What is recorded here

Castle in Kilnaseer is not a point on a modern map, but a name preserved in O'Flanagan's 1930 letters and the Tipperary inventory. It may have been a hall, a watchtower, a boundary marker or a house whose stones were scattered long before surveyors came through. What is certain is that the land still carries the shape of the claim: a castle was believed important enough to record, even if no tower remains to prove it.
