Castle is an absent castle in Doonore North and Doonore South, recorded by John O'Donovan in 1841 but already without a visible trace. It may have been a hall, a watchtower, a boundary marker or a mistake born of distance and rumor. The land keeps the shape of the claim even when the stones refused to show themselves.

In 1841 John O'Donovan (OSL) recorded the existence of a castle here; no trace of the castle survived then and its exact location is unknown. The above description is derived from J.
