What is recorded here
Ballyronan in County Wicklow once held a castle now vanished without a trace. Price recorded the loss in 1936 and again in 1967, preserving only that it existed. The absence is sharper than a ruined wall because nothing remains for a finger to touch or a camera to hold.
Price (1936, 45; 1967, 385-6) noted that there was once a castle at Ballyronan.
