What is recorded here

Castle in Ballynorty, County Limerick, appeared as a castellated house and tower on a 1655 map after being called a sufficient dwellinghouse in 1611. It may have stood where a field, lane or forgotten boundary still passes, giving people a place to see, judge and remember. The missing point on the land does not diminish it; it keeps the castle alive in imagination and local thought.
