Castle, unclassified in Ballinroddy, County Longford, Ireland: a castle recorded in a 1607 land grant, now unclassified because its exact place has slipped from the land. In 1607 the King granted Patrick Fox of Dublin the lands of Termon-Ianaigh or Corby of Ballyroddy, describing a ruinous castle of 2½ cartrons worth 6s 4d. The castle may still lie beneath a field, a ditch or a forgotten boundary, waiting for someone to stop treating the gap as nothing.

A land grant of 1607 states that the King granted to Patrick Fox of Dublin the lands of ‘Termon-Ianaigh or Corby of Ballyroddy, containing a ruinous castle, 2½ cartrons; value, 6s 4d’ (Cal. pat. rolls Ire., Jas I, 115).
